                                               Reflecting Upon December  Building with recycled materials  The children continued to show an interest in building. We provided them with a variety of recycled materials such as cardboard tubes, plastic tubes, paper plates, and egg cartons. The children worked on stacking the plates and tubes on top of one another to create a tall structure. Many of the children discovered that placing a paper plate between the items would help stabilize the structure.  Teaching Strategies Gold Objectives Met:  6.   Reflecting upon October and November  Taking a closer look at fall  The children researched the seasons changing through observation, drawing, and painting. We collected leaves from outside and observed them in the water table, and then placed them on the light table. They explored the differences in color, shape, and textures. Reflecting upon September

  Reflecting upon September   Painting with various objects and on various textures  The children have been experimenting with different items to paint with. So far we have explored painting with string, cotton pads, cotton swabs, coffee filters, and fabric pieces. We have discussed the differences in lines and marks the various materials make. The children also have experimented with painting on a variety of different surfaces such as coffee filters, aluminum foil, white paper, and easel paper.  Teaching Strategies Objectives Met:  Physical   7.
